President: Marianne Hendricks president@apaba-md.org Marianne Roteany Kim Eng Hendricks is a Maryland native and a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland and the University of Maryland School of Law. During law school, she served as Managing Editor of the University of Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class and Treasurer of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA). After graduating from law school, Marianne clerked for the Honorable Timothy J. Martin of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County in Towson. Upon the conclusion of her clerkship, she worked as an Associate at Schmidt, Dailey & O’Neill in Baltimore. She is currently a Staff Attorney in the Child Advocacy Marianne is licensed to practice law in Maryland and is an inactive member of the DC Bar. She is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) and serves on the Leadership Academy Committee, Planning Committee and the Delivery of Legal Services Section Council. She is a 2007 Leadership Academy graduate. Marianne served as Treasurer of APABA-MD from 2005 to 2007. Marianne is of Cambodian descent and resides in Silver Spring with her husband, Robert J. Hendricks, Jr. |

President-Elect: Pooja Regmi presidentelect@apaba-md.org Pooja A. Regmi is APABA-MD’s current president-elect. She is a partner at Rodriguez Stelmack Park & Regmi, LLC, an immigration and estate planning firm located in Silver Spring, Maryland. Ms. Regmi represents clients on a diverse range of immigration and family matters. In addition to APABA-MD activities, she is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association: currently, she is on the Conference Planning committee for the DC Chapter’s Fall 2009 Conference. Ms. Regmi is also an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association and she was one of thirteen Leadership Academy Fellows of 2008-2009. Ms. Regmi has experience in serving indigent and diverse community. She previously worked at the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center, where she spearheaded the Maryland office, expanded APALRC’s services to include family law in Montgomery County and worked exclusively with domestic violence survivors for their family law and immigration needs. During Ms. Regmi’s tenure at APALRC, she teamed with APABA-MD and conducted a pro bono VAWA training for interested attorneys. Ms. Regmi graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law and Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies in International Studies. Ms. Regmi speaks Nepali. |

Treasurer: Sun E. Choi treasurer@apaba-md.org Sun E. Choi earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce at the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor at the Washington College of Law, American University. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Choi served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Eugene N. Hamilton, Chief Judge of the Superior Court, Washington D.C. Following her clerkship, Ms. Choi entered into private practice to several Washington DC area firms specializing in Family Law, Criminal Defense, and Civil Litigation. Years later, Ms. Choi became a Prosecutor for the State’s Attorney’s Office for Frederick County, Maryland. After several years, Ms. Choi re-entered private practice as the principal founder of the Metropolitan Law Group. Ms. Choi is a trial attorney, and her current areas of emphasis include Criminal Defense, Family Law and Civil Litigation to State and Federal Courts. Ms. Choi is licensed to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, is currently applying to practice in Virginia and is fluent in Korean. |

Michelle R. Daley
Michelle Daley, the co-chair of the APABA-MD Judicial Nominations Committee, is of Goan (Indian) and Irish descent. Michelle, a native Marylander, is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and the University of Maryland, College Park. As an attorney in the commercial litigation department of Shulman Rogers in Potomac, Maryland, she advocates on behalf of prominent local and national home builders and land developers in civil litigation and dispute resolution matters in both state and federal courts. As a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional, she focuses on emerging green building practices. Much of Michelle’s practice also involves closely monitoring legislation and judicial opinions that affect not only home builders and land developers in the region, but the general business community as a whole, to assist her clients in successfully avoiding, and navigating around issues that often lead to, protracted disputes. |

Yekyung (Yennie) Kim
Yekyung (Yennie) Kim, the co-chair of the APABA-MD Judicial Selections Committee, is a graduate of American University Washington College of Law and Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. As a litigator, Yennie appears in courts and administrative proceedings throughout Maryland on behalf her clients in both criminal and civil matters. Although she engages in general litigation, a special focus of her practice has been medical malpractice cases, and she has acted as second chair in many cases that resolved successfully. A native of Korea, she travels to Seoul regularly to visit friends and family. |

Chair Emeritus: Paul Chung Hong Suk “Paul” Chung is a Shareholder in the Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Department at Shulman Rogers. In his current practice, Paul represents individuals who have been seriously injured or have lost a loved one as a result of the negligence of others, including health care providers. In addition, Paul also handles claims arising under the Federal Tort Claims Act and the Military Claims Act. Paul’s practice, however, is not limited to medical malpractice, personal injury or product liability cases but also encompasses variety of commercial and criminal defense matters. He is admitted to practice before the courts in Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia. Paul attended public schools in Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1992. Paul then attended Temple University School of Law, where he was a member of the International and Comparative Law Journal, obtaining his Juris Doctor degree in 1996. While is law school, Paul had the unique opportunity to work as a summer associate for a Korean based law firm in Seoul, Korea. Prior to joining Shulman Rogers, Paul served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County, Maryland. As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Paul prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases before the District Court and the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. Paul currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Personal Injury Litigation Section of the Montgomery County Bar Association. At-Large Members: Alice S. Chong Alice S. Chong is a graduate of the University of Maryland , College Park and Rutgers School of Law, Camden, New Jersey. Upon graduation from law school, Alice served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Darlene Perry of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland. Following her clerkship, she entered private practice specializing in civil litigation. Currently, she works for the federal government. She is licensed to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia. |

Linette F. Golden (Immediate Past President)
Linette F. (Gatmaitan) Golden is originally from Arlington, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University with double majors in Public Health Studies and French Literature. Linette earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law with a concentration in Family Law. She served as the UB APALSA Student Liaison, and served as President of APABA-MD from 2007 to 2009. She practices family law with Robert A. Ades and Associates, P.C., in Prince George’s County. Catherine Chen Hester
Catherine has been a member of the Maryland Bar since 1985. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California at Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor from the Southwestern University School of Law, she began her career in the Maryland Attorney General’s Office handling appellate work. Later, she practiced in two private firms handling civil litigation. Subsequently, Catherine served in both the Baltimore City and Howard County State’s Attorneys’ Offices. Catherine was the Chief of the Juvenile Division in Howard County before joining the Maryland Office of the People’s Counsel, a State consumer advocacy agency, where she engaged in the practice of state and federal administrative and regulatory energy law. Catherine was a founding member of APABA-MD and has served as President-Elect and President from 2003-2005. She is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association; a Fellow of the MSBA Foundation, and the Women’s Bar Association. Currently, Catherine is the Special Projects Manager at a small nonprofit that serves the immigrant population. Catherine herself immigrated to the United States with her family when she was nine years old from Taiwan. Catherine lives in Columbia with her husband, mutt Palmer, and (occasionally) her two children, now 22 and 24 years of age. Other Languages: Mandarin (rudimentary) |

Hon. Brian G. Kim Judge Kim is a judge of the District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County, appointed in 2002. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Kim served in the County Attorney’s Office for Montgomery County and the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland. Judge Kim has been in private practice and as a principal of his own law firm. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was conferred the Adjunct Professor of the Year Award for the 2004-2005 academic year. |
